The ignition system, the ignition distributor

It jerks, shoots, jumps badly. Small parts, great effect, and not always it is the carburetor.

The interaction of the small parts in the ignition system is important. You decisively decide on a good engine run. Is the contact set to the correct distance? Is the ignition time correct? What does the spark plug look like, does the electrode distance fit? We want to address these issues in this article.

Brakes
The vehicle pulls on one side, the braking effect has decreased, the main examination has not been passed. Are the wheel brake cylinders fixed? Are the brake pads oiled or worn? Let’s take a look at the braking system.

Does brake fluid run out of the wheel brake cylinder? How do I get the small holding spring reassembled? What brake pad strength do I need? We want to address these issues in this article.

Steering
It begins, at some point the steering game is there.

Who doesn’t want direct steering? The driver and the TÜV. There are two components in which wear is often the first appearance. The short, medium steering rod and the axle on the front axle housing. This can be determined by moving the steering wheel back and forth while simultaneously observing the two components and the steering lane lever (also intermediate steering lever). If the wheels do not move, or only a little, the steering wheel travels some way, then the steering movement disappears in the air of the components. In this chapter we deal with a simple can/axis storage. The spare parts catalogue is very useful. Here the necessary spare parts such as axle, sleeves and O-rings are listed. Buying a spare parts kit is a practical matter.

Axle cuff Haflinger MK1
Who doesn’t know? A defective axle cuff on the front axle

The first Haflingers still had a rubber cuff over the articulated shaft. If you have discovered the defective front axle cuff in time, you may still be able to repair your drive shaft. In the meantime, there are also replicas, which are however many times more expensive. The spare parts catalogue is very useful here. Here the necessary spare parts such as O-rings and cuffs are listed. Our thanks for this project goes to the company Autoquariat.
